New Pelican Elite Series Strike 130
Pelican Launches New Fishing Kayaks
On the water for 2009, Pelican launches the Elite Series Strike 130 and 150 fishing kayaks joining its Strike 116, Getaway, and Castaway for kayak anglers. Matching the features of today’s best fishing kayaks, Pelican announced the launch of the all-new Strike 130 and 150 at an attractive price for the budget angler. It isn’t a sit-on-top recreational kayak with a few rod holders – Pelican designed this SOT platform primarily for fishing.
Pelican says the Elite Series is aimed at intermediate to advanced paddlers who want more capability and features than the company’s trademark entry-level craft. “We believe there’s a large hole in the middle of the kayak market,” explains Pelican’s Antoine Prefontaine. “The Elite Series fills that gap.”
Features on the 13-foot Strike 130 and 15-foot Strike 150 include a multi-chine, deep V hull design for speed and tracking, plus a generous 30-inch beam for stability when casting either seated or standing. Pelican’s Poly-XR material and thermoform manufacturing create a light yet durable platform.
A quick-release seat, retractable rudder, roomy bow hatch, two watertight day hatches, tackle box, swivel rod holder, and two flush-mount holders behind the seat are standard. Gear heads will appreciate a mounting plate in the front of the cockpit, eliminating the need to drill into the boat when affixing fish finders, GPS, and other gadgets.
The 2009 Strike 130 is available with an MSRP of $999.99 USD / $1049.99 CDN
